International Conference on Game Design and Technology Innovation 2026
Welcome Message
Welcome to the International Conference on Game Design and Technology Innovation, a gathering co-hosted by HKUST’s Center for AI in Economic, Social and Environmental Research and MIT Game Lab.
This conference is rooted in a simple but powerful idea: games are not just entertainment, they are powerful tools for meaningful change. We gather to explore how thoughtful game design can address real-world challenges: from creating sustainable cities through immersive urban simulations, to modeling viable fashion supply chains via player-driven systems, and embedding cultural depth into every narrative.
If your work bridges creative design with social impact, you belong here. Join us to share research, exchange practical insights, and leave with frameworks to shape the next chapter of game design, where every mechanic, interface, and prototype serves a purpose beyond the screen.
